Welcome

What started as a desire to help one person became a passion to help everyone. 

We've all known someone that just couldn't seem to make life work for them, whether that's due to financial hardships, health issues, or just making the wrong choices. They struggle with the big things, a safe place to sleep, a warm meal, a hot shower, all things that most of us take for granted. Those are just the basics. 

There was a time when you could walk off into the wilderness and make a place for yourself in this world but that was long ago. In today's society if you walk off into the woods you're on someone else's property. But the Earth belongs to all us. And if you  don't have a even a little space to call your own, how can you build a life worth living?  

And that's where it started for us. Watching one person struggle to have a place in this world. We realized that without a firm foundation to live on most of us would struggle. Because we are all the same. We all need that support. Not a hand-out, not one meal, not one night in a shelter, a place to call home that you can be sure no one is coming to take from you. Just the sound of that can give someone a sense of hope. A sense of belonging that nothing else in the world can give you.

The gateway to that sense of belonging is a hard one for some of us to open. The  U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development  says that 22 in 10,000 people are homeless. The numbers seem small when you look at them that way but the situations are real. 

Seniors are being discharged from hospitals with no where to go. Children are living in cars because their one parent lost a job. Veterans are living on the streets with PTSD. It's got to change. With your help we just might be able to tackle the problem once and for all.
